Six disciplines, one learning loop

From first classroom observation to a shipped, measured product — Owl Core covers the full lifecycle of an educational application.

Engineers building an educational mobile app
01

Learning app development

End-to-end product teams shipping mobile and web learning apps for K-12, higher education and vocational training — offline-first where connectivity is scarce.

  • React Native & PWA delivery
  • Offline sync and low-data modes
  • Accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA
02

Adaptive learning engines

Content models, adaptive difficulty and assessment engines built into the products we ship, with outcome tracking for teachers and funders.

  • Adaptive lesson & item banks
  • Assessment and scoring engines
  • Program dashboards for funders
03

App portfolio audits

Independent review of an existing app estate: what to keep, merge, rebuild or retire, with a costed roadmap for the next 18 months.

  • Pedagogical review
  • Technical & data audit
  • Consolidation roadmap
04

Localization at scale

Curriculum-aware adaptation across languages, regions and regulatory frameworks — not just translated strings.

  • Right-to-left and script support
  • Curriculum mapping per market
  • In-country reviewer network
05

Research-driven design

Interfaces grounded in cognitive science, validated with classroom studies before a single line of production code.

  • Classroom pilots
  • Cognitive load reviews
  • Teacher co-design workshops
06

Data protection & compliance

Child-data governance across GDPR, COPPA and national frameworks, run out of our Frankfurt studio.

  • DPIA and data mapping
  • Consent and minimisation design
  • Vendor & hosting review

How we work

01 · Observe

Field visits, teacher interviews and instrumentation of the current experience.

02 · Design

Learning flows designed per language, device, prior knowledge and access pattern.

03 · Prototype

Fast, testable builds put in front of real classrooms within weeks.

04 · Measure

Outcome tracking against the program's own goals, reported to funders and ministries.

Most of this work is delivered with NGOs. That shapes how we deliver: phased scopes that fit grant cycles, deliverables mapped to funding milestones, offline-first engineering for classrooms with one tablet per ten learners, reporting structured for donors and boards, and a capacity handover — documentation, training and code ownership — so local teams can run the product after we leave.
